Thunder And Rain

Thunder and Rain is a Nashville-based Newgrass band weaving together bluegrass instrumentation with award-winning songwriting inspired by pop, country, classic rock, and old-time. Their signature sound blends three-part harmony, sing-along choruses, and image-rich lyricism, all driven by thunderous banjo and fiddle.

Award-winning songwriter Erinn Peet-Lukes founded Thunder and Rain in Colorado in 2013. The original version of the band recorded three studio albums and did extensive touring in the midwest before parting ways in 2020. Following a pandemic-era hiatus, Erinn relocated to Nashville, where she met Amelia Ransom (fiddle) and Laura Ray (banjo). The trio instantly clicked, and reformed the band in 2023, bringing a renewed focus on tight harmony and a more traditional acoustic sound. 

The trio released their first studio album, Storybook Sessions, in October 2024, featuring 9 original tracks written and arranged by the band. They are now joined by Amanda Accardi on upright bass, who has perfectly rounded out the band into an all women bluegrass powerhouse. The quartet is releasing a brand new single, a cover of REM’s Losing My Religion, in October 2026.
